A special post for a special movie here… Born Free!
It is a story of a lioness Elsa who is brought up by a human couple, only to be tamed so much that she becomes unfit for survival in big bad wilds out there. But then the time comes when the couple has to make a choice between sending away Elsa either to a zoo or back to jungles. They choose to send her back to her home…. The jungles of Africa. However the problem is that now Elsa has become too domesticated to be sent back. She is unable to fend for herself. In a way she has never been taught that she is a lioness and being the queen of the jungle she needs to be ferocious and hunt for prey.
The couple decides to train Elsa to be wild, to hunt for herself and to learn the Jungle Rules. Now starts the long and painful ordeal that Elsa undergoes in this transition, not to mention the couple’s ordeal for whom Elsa is like their own child. They take her to jungle regularly in order to get her acquainted with the environment there. Time and again she gets rejected by her fellow lion troops in the jungle because of her seemingly odd behavior. The jungle finds Elsa to be not amongst one of them. She faces some life threatening encounters with the jungle-mates only to convince her foster parents further that there might be no other way than to put Elsa into the lonely and dull confines of some zoo. But they stick on to their goal of letting Elsa “Live Free” as she was “Born Free”.Finally Elsa triumphs to be a wild feline that she deserves to be.
The storyline that depicts Elsa’s journey from cubhood to motherhood is picturized with an unarguably splendid emotion. One can immensely feel the pangs that Elsa goes through in this transition of hers. What I liked the most in the movie is its portrayal of the concept of “Born Free”. It hit me right in my heart. In a way, this movie inspired me to live my life the way I want, without being tamed by the audacities of my environs!!!

i completely agree with the fact that human beings are born free and have the freedom to do what they want to.... but when we are a part of a team, there are times when we need to tweak our freedom to be inline with the one of the group as a whole...and that's what most people forget....
Yes you are right Ajit... But what I deduced from the movie was a pure sentiment devoid of any practical matters... Hope you get me... :)
